Pasco County seeks 3 TDC members

As Pasco County’s Office of Tourism Development, Visit Pasco, works to promote Pasco County, Florida as a tourist destination, the Tourist Development Council (TDC) and the Pasco Board of County Commissioners (BCC) are looking for three new TDC members who understand how important tourism is to Pasco County.  The TDC is responsible for providing oversight to Staff on the use of tourism taxes – or the so-called ‘Bed Tax’.

“There are currently three open positions, two of which will need to remain hoteliers and one that is open to a tourism industry-related professional,” said Tourism Manager Ed Caum.  “We are hoping to get a qualified mix of applicants who represent a variety of areas in Pasco County.”

Council members serve staggered four-year terms.  The TDC typically meets on a monthly basis.

Some of the responsibilities of TDC members include: making recommendations to the BCC regarding the Special Event Marketing Program and Sport Event Sponsorship Program; overseeing department policies and procedures; providing funding allocation recommendations and serving as an advocate for tourism and destination development.

Applications are being accepted through December 31, 2016.
