Official ribbon cutting for the new LOL Community Center

The Pasco County Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources Department will be holding a grand opening/ribbon cutting ceremony to dedicate a new performing arts stage in Pasco County.

The ceremony will take place on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Land O’ Lakes Community Center located at 5401 Land O’ Lakes Boulevard, Land O’ Lakes, Florida 34639.

The Heritage Stage as it will be called will be host to a variety of Pasco County events including school band assemblies, concerts, plays, cook-outs, pageants, and various presentations.

“This bandshell is the result of a community coming together,” said Kurt Browning, Pasco County superintendent of schools. “It represents various governmental agencies working with multiple civic-minded business leaders to build a quality structure at significant savings that will benefit the young and the old alike.”

Construction of the stage began in September of 2016. The cost of the stage was approximately $250,000 and was a community effort made possible through donations from architects, contractors, and a grant from the Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs.

The Heritage Stage as it will be called will be host to a variety of Pasco County events including school band assemblies, concerts, plays, cook-outs, pageants, and various presentations.

“The generous support of our community partners and the school board allowed The Heritage Stage to be completed in its grandeur,” said Pasco County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Director Kelley Boree. “This was truly a community effort and will be a transformative center piece to Land O’Lakes. The new stage and recently renovated park will continue to be a gathering place for youth, families and adults, demonstrating how parks build community!”
