Food Drive and Free Concert feature Hungrytown Folk Duo

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on January 10, 2018

The Hernando County Public Library invites the community to the free concert and food drive “Help us feed this hungrytown” on Saturday January 20, 2018. Folk duo, Hungrytown will perform at our Spring Hill branch (9220 Spring Hill Dr., Spring Hill) from 2 to 3 p.m.

The public is encouraged to bring canned or other non-perishable food items, food-related gift certificates or pet food. Local charities People Helping People in Hernando County and the Humane Society of the Nature Coast will be in attendance to receive the donations at the end of the concert.

After more than a decade of world-wide touring and three album releases, Rebecca Hall and Ken Anderson–otherwise known as the folk duo Hungrytown–have earned a reputation for the quality and authenticity of their songwriting.

“It’s great to hear an act eschew sentimentality in favor of honesty and to prove that you don’t have to go raiding the memory of others to find the stuff that really good songs are made of,” writes Jedd Beaudoin of Popmatters. Visit to learn more about the duo.

Call (352) 754-4043 or visit for more concert information. Follow @HernandoPublicLibrary on Facebook for event updates.
