13th Annual Pigz in Z’Hills BBQ and Blues Festival: Great Food, Music & Fun Jan. 13-14

The Greater Zephyrhills Chamber of Commerce proudly invites BBQ and Blues enthusiasts to drive-in or fly-in to the 13th Annual Pigz in Z’Hills BBQ and Blues Festival at 39421 South Avenue in Zephyrhills, across the street from the Zephyrhills Municipal Airport, January 13 from 5 to 9 p.m. and January 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  

The fun begins with the very popular Kidz Grillin’ Competition, a big part of Friday’s festivities from 5-9 p.m. Through community donations and sponsorships from Sonny’s BBQ, Bahr’s Propane Gas & AC, Home Depot, and Chick- fil-A Zephyrhills, the first 30 youth registered can compete for free while being mentored by local Pit Masters.

The Kidz Grillin’ Competition is limited to 30 kidz, ages 5-15, who will compete for trophies, while being mentored by local Pit Masters. BBQ Vendors offer Pigz in Z’Hills Patrons some Smokin’ Delicious Options

In past years, Pigz in Z’Hills BBQ and Blues has featured statewide barbecue competitors, but for 2023, professional barbecue vendors will provide mouth-watering options for festivalgoers!

Blues Music at Pigz in Zhills to Make your Heart Sing and your Feet Move

The AdventHealth Stage at the 2023 Pigz in Z’Hills BBQ and Blues Festival will be alive on Friday night from 6 to 9 p.m. featuring a crowd favorite, Chuck Riley’s All-Star Band, consisting of TC Carr, Robb Stoney, Josh Nelms and, of course, Chuck Riley, after Paul Correia and Hired Gun take the stage from 6-7pm.

Bring your Lawn Chair to Enjoy First-Class Blues Music throughout Saturday

The 13th Annual Pigz in Z’Hills music lineup offers something for everyone.

Saturday’s impressive line-up of blues music features Mark Shane, Snake Farm Band, RJ Howson and Doug Deming and the Jewel Tones.

Bring your lawn chairs for at-home comfort as you listen to amazing blues from 11 a.m. thru 5:30 p.m.

The Zephyrhills Museum of Military History located across the street will be open for visitors to enjoy this impressive and unique collection of memorabilia and information during the 13th Annual Pigz in Z’Hills BBQ and Blues Festival.

Cornhole Competitions with Two Divisions

The Cornhole Tourney will begin Friday night with a $500 purse. The Saturday Tourney will include 2-player team-double elimination tournaments featuring the ‘Well-Seasoned Division’ for more skilled competitors ($40 per team with a total payout of $500 as well as 1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies) begins at 12:00 p.m. 

The ‘Still-Marinating Division’ is available for recreational competitors and costs only $20 per team. Prizes will include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies along with BBQ swag bags full of goodies and will begin at 3:00 p.m.

Additional Festival Activities are Planned

In addition to the barbecue at Pigz in Z’Hills BBQ and Blues Festival, great vendors, and live blues music, the Kidz Zone will entertain with face painting, arts & crafts, and games provided by the East Pasco Family YMCA.

The OneBlood Mobile unit will be on site for blood donations. All donors will receive free admission and a wellness checkup including blood pressure, temperature, iron count, and cholesterol screening.

Pigz in Z’Hills proceeds Benefit local Students and Nonprofit Organizations

Pigz in Z’Hills has helped The Greater Zephyrhills Chamber of Commerce to provide $48,000 in scholarships for local Zephyrhills area students in the 12 years since its inception.

Students aren’t the only one benefitting from Pigz in Z’Hills. Many local 501(c)3 youth groups and charities that dedicate time and talent to make this a successful event are awarded donations raised from the event. Its success has allowed the Chamber to “Pay it Forward” with donations to scholarships, youth leadership programs and children’s charities every year since its beginning.

The Festival is presented by the Greater Zephyrhills Chamber of Commerce and is a “Experience Florida’s Sports Coast” event in partnership with the City of Zephyrhills and Zephyrhills Municipal Airport, Suncoast Credit Union, PuroClean, AdventHealth Zephyrhills, American Infrastructure Development, Accident Attorney Kevin L. Sullivan, Sonny’s BBQ, SouthState Bank, Bahr’s Propane Gas & AC, Chick-fil-A Zephyrhills, Golden Corral, Jarrett Ford, BEARCOM, JJ Taylor Distributing, EZ Clean Car Wash, and Florida Trailer Solutions.
