The 2016 Fall Family Fishing Festival will return to Withlacoochee River Park on Saturday, November 5, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (rain or shine).

The 2016 Fall Family Fishing Festival provides valuable educational and recreational opportunities for residents and visitors.  Withlacoochee River Park is located at 12449 Withlacoochee Boulevard, Dade City, Florida.

Made possible by the Pasco County Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources Department; the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission; and Fish Florida, this annual event is free to the entire community.

“Detaching from modern technologies and engaging in quality family time in the vast outdoors – that is what this event is all about,” says Kimberly Miller, Recreation Leader II.

This fun‑filled event  introduces families to the outdoors, the sport of fishing, and the importance of being good stewards of Florida’s freshwater ecosystems.

Hands‑on activities include fishing in the pristine waters of the Withlacoochee River, wildlife encounters, learning stations, and carnival games.  There will be a free rod/reel for the first 250 participants, gift raffles, a nutritious lunch, face painting, crafts and many other attractions – all at no cost to residents!  More information on fishing and boating in Florida can be found at www.myfwc.com.
