People Places, LLC and Jose Cardenas, LLC are proud to announce their new joint venture, 5800 Main, LLC, and its purchase of the former Cameo Antique Mall in Downtown New Port Richey. The roughly 9,500 square foot building, which will be renamed 5800 Main, is one of the largest buildings downtown and presents a significant opportunity to revitalize downtown retail.
“We are excited about the possibilities for new businesses and activities on Main Street and we hope this building will have a big positive impact on the city,” said Jose Cardenas, one of the principals in the venture. With 100 feet of storefront on Main Street and stretching all the way back to Railroad Square, the building will offer plenty of space for businesses to thrive.
People Places founder Frank Starkey adds, “Our goal is to get more people walking downtown with interesting merchants, inviting storefront design and things like seating and merchandise displays on the sidewalk.”

His background as the Arts Integration Manager and Social Studies coordinator for his campus at the Houston Independent School district, training at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, 20 years as a performer of traditional Mexican folklore dance, and extensive travel of the world has given him a unique perspective on design.
