The non-profit Alzheimer’s Family Organization (AFO), in cooperation with Meridien Research, has announced The Hernando Bowling Challenge, a fund-raising event to support caregivers for individuals living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

About this first-time event, AFO Executive Director Kathleen Winters states, “We are very excited about the interest The Hernando Bowling Challenge has created.  The funds it raises will help us fulfill our mission to provide educational programs, support services, and assistance to caregivers, families, and individuals living with Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of dementia.”

The Challenge will begin at 1 p.m. on July 14, 2018 at Strike City, 3544 Mariner Blvd in Spring Hill, Florida.  The entry fee for teams of four is $150.  There will also be a silent auction, drawings for prizes, and a 50/50 raffle.

To enter the competition, bowlers can call 352-616-0170, or enter on line at prior to June 1, 2018.  Opportunities for sponsorship and donations of gifts and prizes are available until the day of the event.  Contact the AFO for additional information.

Meridien Research, the lead sponsor of The Hernando Bowling Challenge, located at 120 Medical Boulevard in Spring Hill, Florida, conducts clinical trials in search for a cure for Alzheimer’s and other diseases, and provides free memory screenings for individuals concerned about dementia.  For more information, call 352-597-8839.
