Art in the Park announces Art Contest

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on December 3, 2019

The Hernando County Fine Arts Council is excited to announce its first-ever artist competition for artwork to be featured at the 36th annual Art in the Park, held March 14-15, 2020, at Tom Varn Park, 306 Darby Lane, Brooksville, Florida.

In keeping with the Arts Council mission, this contest gives Hernando County artists an opportunity to share their work with the community to gain exposure and recognition.  The winning design will be featured in the Festival’s souvenir program, as well as being used for commercial promotion of 2020 Art in the Park advertising materials, posters, and more.

This art competition’s goal is to broaden the horizons of artists in our community and other communities they engage with. It offers artists the chance to have their work showcased on display at Art in the Park, which features artists from all over the country.

  • 1st Place Prize: $250 Cash Prize, Interview Spotlight in the AITP Program, an online Art Directory space for 1 year, and 10% of proceeds from products sold.
  • 2nd Place Prize: $125 Cash Prize and an online Art Directory space for 1 year.
  • 3rd Place Prize: $75 Cash Prize and an online Art Directory space for 1 year.

The winners will also receive their winning design displayed at Art in the Park and will be featured at the Artist Feature Booth. This is where the promotional materials will be featured and sold.

The contest is free to enter and designs should reflect and represent the Florida lifestyle and the Florida Adventure Coast. Artists are encouraged to choose subjects that they feel showcase both our area’s beauty and its uniqueness.
