The Brooksville Art Gallery 201 is sponsored by the City of Brooksville. It is planned and arranged by an Art Gallery Coordinator and volunteers. The Gallery is free and open to the public from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and is located in downtown inside Brooksville City Hall, located at 201 Howell Ave., Brooksville. The exhibit area is located on the first and second floors and is a public gallery. There are four (4) exhibits annually and include a reception where the public is invited to visit with the exhibiting artists.

The Brooksville Gallery 201, formerly the Uptown Art Gallery, was established in 1998, in cooperation with the Hernando Fine Arts Council and the City of Brooksville and is the permanent home of the Hernando Heritage Quilt.  The quilt is made up of 22 blocks, with each block portraying a part of the county’s history.  A catalog of the works by artist, Mary A. Coogler (1879-1957), is archived at the Gallery and the Gallery also holds an extensive private collection of donated works that include the Lewis Watkins’ Historical Prints.
