Burn Ban in Effect for Citrus County

The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners has executed a countywide burn ban on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, effective immediately, due to continuing drought-like conditions and the high potential for wildfires.

Burn Ban in Effect for Citrus County

This temporary burn ban will remain in effect until the drought-like conditions resolve. This burn ban includes open burning, campfires, bonfires, fireworks, burning of yard debris, refuse and other debris. Outdoor burning is hereby banned except where the outdoor burning is being performed pursuant to an outdoor burning authorization issued by the Florida Forest Service.
