Burn Ban in effect for Citrus County

With the current drought like conditions and the general state of emergency, the County has enacted a countywide burn ban beginning at 5pm on Monday, March 30, 2020 due to continuing drought conditions and the high potential for wildfires.

This temporary burn ban will remain in effect until the drought-like conditions resolve.

This Burn Ban includes; open burning, campfires, bonfires, fireworks, burning of yard debris, refuse and other debris. Outdoor burning is hereby banned except where the outdoor burning is being performed pursuant to an outdoor burning authorization issued by the Florida Forest Service.
