The 1885 Train Depot Museum was the first train station in Brooksville. The rooms are filled with exhibits depicting early Florida, Railroad, and Hernando County history.
The Train Depot Museum is a repository with census records, the Brooksville city directories dating back to the 1950’s and much more. If you are looking for family information from long ago, it might be at the Depot.
It also houses model trains and railroad memorabilia.
The first fire engine bought by Brooksville in 1925, found its last home in the Train Depot Museum. Stop by and see what The Train Depot offers.
This is one of three museums owned and managed by the Hernando Historical Museum Assoc., a non-profit, all-volunteer organization. These museums are a link to Brooksville’s rich past. Each museum offers guided tours by knowledgeable docents and walk-in tours during business hours but large groups and/or school field trips are available by appointment ONLY.
The price to visit each Museum is $5.00 for Adults and $2.00 for Children for ages 6-12 years old.
