Come visit “Farmer Gene” and “The Blackberry Lady” (Ann) on the beautiful farm, nestled in the Brooksville Ridge area of rolling hills and open skies. With 1 ½ acres of thornless blackberries planted on the 12-acre farm, we are strictly a U-pick operation, providing the best fruit you can get since 2003.
It is our sincere wish to help you make new friends, and create an atmosphere where fond memories are made with family while enjoying the sweet, juicy joy that only a fresh-picked blackberry can give!
Step back in time and rekindle sweet memories of picking pails of blackberries, minus the thorns and chiggers! Listen to the children exclaim they have “found the mother-load” or join your fellow enthusiasts for recipe swapping and events of the week.
You will hear chickens squawking as they let us know they have produced a delicious egg. Cows can be heard lowing in the distance.
Our thornless blackberries are grown with great care and attention. The blackberry canes are trellised for easy picking. Our only business is U-pick so you always get the best of the season.
We provide buckets for picking and plastic bags for transporting your berries home. Please bring a cooler for your berries. Wear sun protection and close toed shoes and bring water to keep yourself hydrated. Well supervised children are welcome. Pets are not allowed in the field, neither is smoking.
We also feature local, raw, organic honey and other seasonal vegetables as they are available from neighboring growers. The 2017 season also features Ann’s Bramble Creek Blackberry Jam. Plan to pick up a jar.
Our season begins in May and runs through June, sometimes July depending on Mother Nature. Days and hours are Saturday from 8am to Noon and Tuesday evening from 5-8pm. Picking dates are staggered to give the berries time to ripen between pickings.
The cost is $5/pound for U-pick and $7/pound for pre-picked. Please call ahead if you want pre-picked berries.
We will also open alternate days and evenings, when berries are available. You can stay updated on our Facebook page, and call the farm at 352-796-5473 for up-to-date picking dates and times. It is always a good idea to call before a trip.
