Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park and the Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park are seeking area businesses and organizations to participate in their annual Haunted Tram Rides community event scheduled for Friday, October 27 and Saturday, October 28, 2017.
The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. each evening, and run until 10:00 p.m. Pepper Creek Trail will be transformed during these evenings into a trail of haunting scenarios that will delight families.
Participating businesses and organizations will be given a location on Pepper Creek Trail to decorate with their own spooky set-up. Guidelines and applications are available at the Park office.
There will be no charge to sponsor a location and all locations will be judged for cash awards for first ($500), second ($300) and third place ($100), and fourth place ($100). Park Manager Kimberlee Tennille says, “This popular annual event is a great community relations project for your business or group, and all participating sponsors will be recognized.”
This will be the thirteenth year the Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park will be holding the Haunted Tram Rides event which has attracted thousands of visitors each night.
In addition to the Haunted Tram Rides, the event includes family fun such as Halloween costume contests, a fun slide, and refreshments. The suggested donation for the tram ride is $5.00 for adults (age 13 and over) and $3.00 for children up to age 12.
A family-friendly Haunted House will be set up in the Florida Room. The Haunted House hours will be Friday, October 27 and Saturday, October 28 from 1:00 pm until 4:00pm and reopening at 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm. The donation for admission to the Haunted House is $2.00 per person.
