Congratulations to Mr. Carl Ballard who works as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Citrus County Solid Waste Division.

Carl was able to achieve second place for heavy equipment operations in this year’s Florida Sunshine Chapter Road-E-O 2017.

This annual event is intended to promote professionalism on the part of drivers, equipment operators and mechanics in the field of Solid Waste Management and is sponsored by the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA).  Additionally the event promotes a spirit of competition and goodwill throughout participating organizations (municipalities, counties and private haulers).

Individuals placing second or better in one of three categories (drivers, equipment operators and mechanics) are invited back all expenses paid to participate in the International event held this year in Orlando.

Over the years several Citrus County Solid Waste employees have participated in this event, some of which have placed second or better.

Congratulations to Carl and to all the other County employees who have demonstrated a high degree of skill and professionalism while representing Citrus County.
