Celebrating Ten Years of “Love Your Library”

Love Your Library is the signature annual fundraising event hosted by the Library Advisory Board, in partnership with the Friends of the Library groups, to benefit the Citrus County Library System. On Friday, February 7 at 6:30 pm, the Central Ridge Branch in Beverly Hills will be transformed for the 10th Annual Love Your Library event. This year we’ll be stepping back a century to the 1920s for a Bootleggers Ball featuring flappers, gangsters, some speakeasy charm, and a little art deco style to get things roaring!

The Cove Pub and Grub will be smuggling in the goods again this year with a delicious selection of appetizers and the famous smashed potato bar. It wouldn’t be much of a speakeasy without adult beverage options, so attendees can be assured that prohibition will not keep us from having a variety of wine and beer. Our DJ for the evening will be mixing in music from the era so you can dance the Charleston and trot the Toddle.

There will be a huge silent auction that will provide excellent opportunities to bid on an array of great items including artwork, jewelry, an amazing assortment of themed baskets, and much more. During this fun-filled night, raffles will also be held for a chance to win incredible themed gift baskets provided by the Friends of the Library groups. Not to be forgotten and back by popular demand, the Wine Toss will give attendees a chance to test their skill and win a prize or two.

The evening is made possible by Suncoast Credit Union, Duke Energy, Crystal Automotive and Motorcycle Group, and other local businesses through their generous sponsorship of the event.

All proceeds stay here in Citrus County and will directly benefit the Citrus County Library System through the Library Foundation Fund as established by the Library Advisory Board. The fund is at over 65% of the goal to raise $500,000 toward major building improvements for the Lakes Region Library in Inverness and Coastal Region Library in Crystal River. With each building now over 30 years old, major renovations are needed to keep our libraries flexible and vibrant spaces that meet the modern needs of the community.

Tickets are $30 each if purchased in advance at any library branch ($35 night of event). For more information or questions, please contact Ben Kampschroer at 352-513-5961 or email Ben.Kampschroer@citruslibraries.org
