Derek Pontlitz of Pontlitz Asset Advisors and the City of New Port Richey will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the old land office now the financial services office of Mr. Pontlitz. This event will take place at the site on the corner of Grand Boulevard and Main Street in downtown New Port Richey beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 14.

Centennial Celebration of the Old Land Office

The city and Mr. Pontlitz recognize that preservation is an effective tool for managing growth, revitalizing neighborhoods, and fostering local pride; and that it is important to show the social and economic benefits of historic preservation while maintaining community character while enhancing livability and quality of life experience for property and business owners and residents.

Historical preservation is relevant for communities across the nation, both urban and rural, and for Americans of all ages, all walks of life, all ethnic backgrounds, and particularly the citizens of New Port Richey who preserve and support the Historic District as an asset for our city.

It is important to celebrate the role of history in our lives in order to preserve the tangible aspects of our heritage that has shaped us as a people while providing a dynamic place to live and work.

The City of New Port Richey recognizes Derek Pontlitz of Pontlitz Asset Advisors as organizing a citywide observation of the 100th birthday of his office building, known as the land office and later the Milbauer Building, with the sole purpose of encouraging all people to learn about the many historic buildings that are a part of our City’s history and heritage.

Several other historic building owners have joined together to observe and co-sponsor this historic occasion by Proclamation and a Dedication Ceremony followed by Walking Tours to include:  The West Pasco Historical Society, The Friends of the Hacienda, Richey Suncoast Theatre, The Pasco Building, The Chasco Inn, Scott McPherson, PA formerly First State Bank and Ordinance One formerly the Fire House.
