Sept 6th 10:00 AM UF/IFAS
Fall blooming Natives: Master Gardener Rita Grant will introduce you to the beautiful variety of fall-blooming natives to brighten your landscape. This is a free one-hour program, no registration required.

Sept 6th 7:30 PM
Night Hike: Ages 16+ are welcome to attend this evening wildlife viewing experience. Arrive by 7:30 to participate, personal flashlights and flash photography prohibited for the safety of others. Look for birds, bats, butterflies, and other wildlife as the sun sets and the moon rises. No registration required, children not permitted.

September 7th 10 AM
Beginners Archery: Learn the basics of target archery using compound bows from skilled instructors. This program is for ages 12+, advanced registration is required. All equipment is provided by Chinsegut Conservation Center. Register at (352) 754-6722 or online at MyFWC.com/Chinsegut.
Program length 2 hours

September 14th 9 AM

3-D Archery: Archers should arrive by 9 AM to join us for this shoot. Course is 15 lanes with 3-D target variety. Sight in your bow on the range. Small fee
applies to help us continue to maintain our equipment. Call (352) 754-6722 for more information, no registration required. Join Drawn by Grace archers for provided lunch following shoot. Allow 3-4 hours to participate fully.


September 20th 10 AM

Birding 101: Whether you’re interested in beginning a birding hobby or
improving your birding skill, this two-hour class is made for you. Learn the common tools of birding, what makes a good pair of binoculars, how to use binoculars effectively and much more. This is a free class for adults. Please register at MyFWC.com/Chinsegut or by calling (352) 754-6722.

Children in the WILD, Animal Evidence: Children ages 5-9 are invited to join us each month at Chinsegut for a program just for kids. Meet live animals, explore outdoors or create a craft. These guide one-hour programs are free of cost and feature new topics each month. Register online at MyFWC.com or call (352) 754-6722.

Sept 27th 8:00 AM

Beginning Birding: Volunteers from the Hernando Audubon Society will be at Chinsegut to offer a guided birding hike. Hike a little or a lot, up to you, there is plenty to see from the back porch of the Center or along the trails. Field guides and binoculars may be borrowed form the Center. This is a free program offered monthly through April, no need to register.

Sept 27th 6:30 PM

Family night w/ Creatures of the night program: Dinner and exploration
outdoors at Chinsegut! This program offered by Not-A-Clue Adventures includes a campfire dinner and dessert with a special opportunity to explore night time animal activity. 15$ per person, reserve on-line, Notaclueadventures.com.

Sept 28th 9 AM

Fall Flowers at Big Pine: Guided 1.5-mile hike through the Big Pine Tract of
Chinsegut WEA located off of Old Crystal River Rd Brooksville. Learn about
native wildflowers and how to utilize iNaturalist App for plant and animal ID.
