Citrus County Announces Funds for Redevelopment/Replacement of Homes

The county is now soliciting applications from very low to low-to-moderate income households for the rehabilitation/replacement of homes within the county limits.

Citrus County is providing housing assistance to owner-occupied households through the CDBG program in order to complete a HUD national objective through the revitalization of conditions in underserved, and Very Low to Low-to-Moderate income neighborhoods. Assistance will be provided in the form of a no interest deferred-payment loan.

No mobile homes will be eligible for rehabilitation, only replacement with a site built structure as funding allows. The County has been awarded $750,000 and expects to serve a minimum of eleven (11) households. The average cost per house will be $61,364. The deadline for receipt of completed applications is 4:30pm on
Tuesday, January 3, 2017.
