Citrus County BOCC Proclaims Grief Awareness and International Overdose Awareness Days

In an effort to aid our partners at the Department of Health in Citrus County, as well as local law enforcement and treatment centers, the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners has declared August 30th Grief Awareness Day and August 31st International Overdose Awareness Day.

The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners seeks to raise awareness of the resources available in our community for those struggling with addiction, as well as provide hope to those grieving the loss of a loved one, letting them know that they are not alone.

If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, contact the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s National Drug and Alcohol Treatment Referral Service at 1-800-662-HELP (4357) or visit www.citrusresourcedirectory.com to be referred to a treatment center in our community.
