Citrus County Business Appreciation Month BBQ: A BAMing Good Time

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on October 6, 2021

It’s time for a boot-scootin’ good time as the BEST business networking event of the year returns: the Business Appreciation Month (BAM) BBQ on October 28 at M&B Dairy in Lecanto.  This annual Citrus County Chamber of Commerce event brings together 900 of Citrus County’s local business people for an evening that recognizes the contributions that the businesses make to our local economy and our quality of life.

With mouth-watering BBQ cooked on-site by M&B’s own Leon McClellan and members of the Agricultural Alliance of Citrus County, Dixie Hollins’ famous fried green tomatoes and Larry Rooks’ fried okra, deliciously smooth ice cream made from the cream of M&B’s dairy cows by our very own local business, Charlie’s Creamery & Sweets in Inverness, along with a complete array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, the BAM BBQ is the place to be seen, network and have fun!

We are excited this year to host the world’s #1 Tim McGraw Cover artist, Vegas McGraw, on the BAM BBQ Stage! Ready to premiere on E! Network from Executive Producer Jimmy Fallon, “Clash of the Cover Bands” will feature Vegas McGraw going head-to-head with America’s top cover bands.

Vegas McGraw to provide Entertainment

“Adam D. Tucker is VEGAS MCGRAW and has entertained hundreds of thousands of fans for over a decade. Vegas McGraw presents a powerful show that thrills and captivates audiences with mega-hits like Don’t Take the Girl, I Like It I Love It, Real Good Man, and Live Like You Were Dying, along with the hits of today.

After getting his start in his home state of West Virginia, Adam moved to Nashville where he recorded his first album. His electrifying tribute to country music legend Tim McGraw has been seen in 45 states, Australia, Mexico, Canada, the Virgin Islands, and he has opened for over 40 national acts including Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean, Reba McEntire, Luke Bryan, and Blake Shelton.”

The BAM BBQ is a 39-year-long tradition sponsored by the Chamber that began in 1983 by the original Committee of 100 at Hollinswood Ranch. Later, when the Committee of 100 formed into the Economic Development Council, it became known as the “EDC BBQ”. It moved to M&B Dairy in 2014.  EDC turned it over to the Chamber to run in 2015.  Over the years, the BBQ has counted hundreds of business dignitaries among its guests, including former Lt. Governor Wayne Mixson, former Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam, Senate President Wilton Simpson, Rep. Ralph Massullo, and many others.
