Citrus County Employee Takes First Place and Top Gun in State Heavy Equipment Competition

The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA)FL Road-E-O is a multi-day event that includes general sessions on the latest safety practices in the industry, networking events, the Road-E-O competition, awards banquet, and more. The event is intended to promote professionalism on the part of drivers, equipment operators, and mechanics in the field of Solid Waste Management and is sponsored by SWANA.  Additionally, the event promotes a spirit of competition and goodwill throughout participating organizations (municipalities, counties and private haulers).

Individuals placing first in one of three categories (drivers, equipment operators, and mechanics) are invited back all expenses paid to participate in the International event held this year in Phoenix, Arizona in October. Over the years several Citrus County Solid Waste employees have participated in this event, some of which have placed second or better in competitions.

Congratulations to Carl and to all the other County employees who have demonstrated a high degree of skill and professionalism while representing Citrus County.
