Citrus County Parks and Recreation is Hosting Weekly Open Kickball

“We’re excited to bring back kickball in an open format. This will provide an opportunity for those who don’t have a team to meet new people and potential new teammates,” said Manny Coimbre, Sports and Events Coordinator. “The open format welcomes Citrus County residents who may be new to, or looking to, participate in a recreational activity that is fun and simple.”

“I used to play in a league in Seattle and made a lot of friends that way when I was new to town,” added Andrea Cuccaro the Division’s Recreation Program Specialist. “I had a blast. Teams used to come up with their own team names and jerseys, along with taunt cheers, songs, and silly dances to tease their rivals before the game. Everyone had a good time, and even folks without a history in sports could get in on the fun.”

Citrus County Parks and Recreation staff will facilitate the games, bring supplies and control the scoreboard. Come on out and bring your friends, snacks, and game face. No alcohol is allowed on the premises, but you can bring peanuts and crackerjacks.

Players can follow the Citrus County Facebook page to check on game day for notices of occasional weatherrelated cancellations. For more information, call (352) 527-7540.
