Citrus County PetMeals Program in Need of Facility

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on March 14, 2017

In 2002, it came to the attention of the Meals On Wheels Program that many of our clients were sharing their meals with their pets because they could not afford to buy pet food.  The PetMeals Program was created in Citrus County to compliment and partner with the existing Meals On Wheels Program.

PetMeals is totally donation based and volunteer distributed.  The PetMeals Program receives dog and cat food donated by local businesses, clients and pet lovers throughout Citrus County.  Caring volunteers deliver the pet food to homebound seniors, who are very grateful for the monthly delivery.

Through the years PetMeals has been fortunate to partner with other businesses in the community for space to store the pet food, repackage the food and coordinate pickup by volunteers who deliver the pet food.

Unfortunately, the PetMeals Program is now in need of a facility to perform these functions.  PetMeals is determined to continue helping our local seniors feed their beloved pets, as these are often their only companion. If you are a local businesses who may have extra space available please call 352-527-5975.
