Purple is the color for World Elder Abuse Awareness and Prevention. The purpose of the purple pinwheel garden is to get the attention of individuals passing by to remind them to report any suspected abuse of a senior — whether it is emotional abuse, physical abuse, financial abuse, or any form of neglect — to Adult Protective Services at 1-800-96ABUSE (1-800-962-2873). It is everyone’s responsibility to care for the most vulnerable in our community.
