The camp will include Christmas ornaments and garlands as craft projects, as well as drawings, paintings, and more all with a holiday theme. The camp will include various arts and crafts projects led by Parks and Recreation staff, volunteer art teacher Shirley Keller, along with a session offered by staff from Citrus County’s University of Florida Extensions Office, and hula hooping to get kids on their feet and moving!

Camp is open to children ages 11 to 14, and will be held from 9am until 4pm each day with an hour long lunch in the middle of the day. The registration fee is $30.00 for the 3-day event. Several spots are still open and parents can register their children at apm.activecommunities.com/citruscountyparks.

Citrus County Parks and Recreation is grateful to receive a $500 grant recently offered by Citrus Fine Arts, Inc., which allows for scholarships to children, who may need assistance for Christmas Craft Camp tuition as well as art supplies.

“We’re really honored that Citrus Fine Arts, Inc. has offered support to provide camp experiences for kids in the community who would otherwise not be able to participate,” said Recreation Program Specialist Andrea Cuccaro.

Parents with children who have an interest in art who require extra assistance can inquire about this opportunity by calling Citrus County Parks and Recreation’s administrative office at (352) 527-7540.

Each camp will host a maximum of 10 campers, and inquiries will be answered in the order received.
