Citrus County Visitors Guide Wins Best Publication in State Competition
The Citrus County Visitors and Convention Bureau has won the prestigious Charlie Award at the Florida Magazine Association’s Awards banquet held at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek in Orlando on August 10, 2018.
The Discover Crystal River Florida Visitors Guide 2018 was voted Best Visitor Publication in Florida tourism, finishing ahead of the Greater Miami & the Beaches Visitors Guide 2018 (Silver) and Discover the Palm Beaches Visitors Guide 2018 (Bronze). The Citrus County publication is produced annually by Visitors Bureau Staff working in conjunction with Akers Media Group of Leesburg.
“Winning this award provides a wonderful opportunity to bring attention to all that Citrus County has to offer both visitors and residents.” said Board of County Commissioners Chairman and Tourism Development Council Chairman Ron Kitchen. “We are all very proud that this year’s Visitors Guide is recognized as best in the state of Florida”.
“To be in competition with some of the larger destinations in the state and chosen as the top magazine is a fantastic achievement. This award celebrates all the hard work that Miles Saunders, Veronica Davis and the creative team at Akers Media put into the creation of this magazine.” said Tourism Development Director John Pricher.
The 2018 award comes just weeks before completion of work on the Visitor Bureau’s 2019 Magazine, which debuts on November 15, 2018, the first day of winter Manatee Season in a destination known as the Manatee Capital of the World.
