Fire Fighter Class FII-2018-44 graduated from the Citrus County Fire Rescue Fire Academy on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Citrus Springs Community Center. Due to the cadets collective high scores on the exam the State recognized the group as “one of the best” in Florida.

Fifteen new firefighters crossed the stage after a rigorous six months of training and preparation to begin their career as professional firefighters. There was standing room only at the graduation ceremony as friends and family attended to show their support and encouragement.

Speakers for the event were, Captain Pam Driggers; Captain and Lead Instructor Michael Burkhart; Commissioner and Chairman Ron Kitchen; Fire Chief Craig Stevens and Class Speaker Patrick Gaule. Commissioner Jimmie T. Smith also participated in the ceremony. Special awards were given to Thomas Devereaux for High Academic, Christina Dahir for Most Improved and Patrick Gaule for Standout Cadet.
