Cocktail Hour for the Tower
We have another fun event coming up in a few very short weeks in Old Homosassa.
A fund raiser for the Old Homosassa Heritage Council (OHHC), the goal of the group is to educate, inspire, and strengthen Old Homosassa’s community identity by preserving and sharing its history. OHHC was started in 2014 in response to the Old Homosassa Water Tower being sold by the Homosassa Special Water District and the organization became one of the heritage councils in the Citrus County Historical Society later that year. OHHC’s first project was to buy the water tower and then to restore it. Through numerous fund raisers and donations over $45,000 has been raised with the goal of $60,000.
In 2016 the tower was restructured.
Painting is the next step and that’s the goal for 2018!
The latest fund raiser, Cocktail Hour for the Tower, started out as a cocktail hour with drinks and appetizers but the creative members of OHHC put their thinking caps on and morphed into a much better and bigger event!
A ticket includes a gourmet buffet and dessert table, two drinks, a door prize chance, and dancing with the Chuck Andrews Band!
And there will also be a silent auction and raffles.
This is really going to be FUN! Wouldn’t this be great to bring your Valentine to?
I’ll be there–I’m the photographer! There are a limited number of tickets still available. If you would like to attend this fun event, email [email protected] or call Marian MacRae, chairperson, at 352-628-5632 and leave a message.
All proceeds will go towards painting the Old Homosassa Water Tower. THIS IS THE YEAR!
