Commissioner Starkey Appointed to NACo Task Force

The National Association of Counties (NACo) has appointed Pasco County Commissioner Kathryn Starkey as Vice Chair of its International Economic Development Task Force. The Task Force is charged with facilitating the exchange of information, ideas and resources, and guiding NACo programming concerning county-level engagement in international economic development activities. 

“I’ve had the privilege to serve on the International Economic Development Task Force for more than four years now, and have experienced firsthand the value of pursuing the global marketplace,” said Commissioner Kathryn Starkey. “Pasco County’s bright future has been marked by steady growth, thanks in part to our ongoing success in recruiting international businesses to call our communities home.”

Pasco County is home to industries based in Germany, Switzerland, United Kingdom, France, Japan, China and the Czech Republic.

NACo’s International Economic Development Task Force is comprised of approximately 70 county leaders from across the country, representing counties of all sizes in every region. Through the Task Force, county officials form valuable international connections, discuss relevant trade issues and learn to engage with the global economy more effectively. Commissioner Starkey previously served three years as Chair.

International Economic Development Task Force members are privileged to work alongside the U.S. Department of State, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration and many other federal agencies.
