County provides $70,000 local match for Colonnade Park Apartments Project

The development consists of 106, one and two bedroom units and is slated for completion by the end of 2020.  The developer for the Colonnade Park project (Green Mill) also built the Forest Ridge affordable housing development in Hernando.

Rents will be based on income and family size; the complex will also accept Housing Choice and HUD VASH Vouchers also known as the Housing Services Divisions Section 8 Program.  The apartments will be professionally managed with onsite amenities such as, a pool, fitness center clubhouse and game room.

“There is a need for this type of housing in the county,” said Housing Services Division Director Tammy Harris. “Many families are just one unexpected expense away from being broke and two paychecks away from being homeless.”

At this time two hundred local families are receiving subsidized housing vouchers through CCHS allowing them an affordable place to live. In addition, another approximately three hundred more are currently on a waiting list. For more information on this program, please phone, 352-527-7520.
