Drought conditions temporarily close two Hernando County boat ramps

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on April 20, 2017

The Hernando County Waterways Department announces that starting Thursday, April 19, 2017, public boat ramps at Mountain Lake and Hunters Lake will be temporarily closed to motorized boats due to low water levels that have resulted from the ongoing drought. Access is still available for kayaks and canoes at Hunters Lake; however, Mountain Lake boat ramp is closed to all use.

Other public boat ramps are being evaluated and closures will be announced as required.

Hunters Lake is under drought conditions, causing temporary closing of the boat ramp.
