The Christmas Season can be an extremely difficult time to lose a family member, especially a parent. Citrus County Fire Rescue staff has offered their support to a local family suffering such a loss.

This month, a family tragedy took a father from a mother and several children. Citrus County Fire Rescue Lt. Anthony Seguin heard of the incident through the Sheriff’s Office and reached out to his fellow firefighters to provide support for the family during this difficult time. Through the efforts of Lt. Seguin, and the Fire Rescue staff, Christmas has been provided for the children.

On December 12 the Engine 9 crew went out to check on the family. Lt. Boyer and DE Burkhart found non-functioning and missing smoke alarms in the residence. In an effort to provide a safer home for the surviving family members Engine 9 crew members “came to the rescue” and installed new smoke alarms throughout the home.
