Hernando Audubon Meeting: Reddish Egrets in Florida: Beautiful and Fierce
April 28 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Free
The Reddish Egret is the rarest heron in North America. In Florida, we have less than 400 pairs. Ann Paul will explain why these birds are so rare here, where they occur, how to differentiate them from the other herons, and about their unique feeding behavior, their courtship rituals, and other fascinating facts.
Ms. Paul is an expert in waterbird populations and management of coastal habitats for wildlife, having worked for Audubon’s Florida Coastal Islands Sanctuaries from 1991 as the Tampa Bay Regional Coordinator until she retired in 2020. The meeting will be held on Thursday, April 28 at 7 p.m. at Brooksville Woman’s Club, 131 S. Main Street, Brooksville. Masks and social distancing are required.
