Virtual Presentation on Sandhill Wetlands of the Nature Coast

February 16 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join Sierra Club Adventure Coast’s virtual monthly membership meet up on Wednesday, February 16th from 7-8 PM. Our guest speaker is Dr. ReNae Nowicki, an ecohydrologist, who will present on the Sandhill Wetlands of the Nature Coast. Dr. Nowicki studies the interactions between ecology and hydrology—how water moves across and through the land and is influenced by (and influences) plants, soil, rock, and wildlife.

As owner and principal scientist with EcoHydrologix LLC, a consulting firm in Spring Hill, Florida, most of her work involves wetland and aquifer assessments for municipalities, local governments, state agencies, and water supply authorities. ReNae has a doctoral degree from the School of Geosciences at University of South Florida, where she researched the ecohydrology of Florida’s sandhill wetlands. When not musing over the remaining mysteries of sandhill wetlands, ReNae spends her time restoring the native sandhill habitat on her property and is a representative for a local animal rescue.
