Hernando Audubon Meeting about Red-cockaded Woodpecker Habitat

The Red-cockaded Woodpecker was once a fairly common bird in the pine forests of southeastern United States. This bird is now rare, local, and considered a federally endangered species. It only thrives in an old growth pine forest, many of which have been logged in the past century.
