If you love gardening, enjoy helping people and have time to share your skills, discover what it means to be a Master Gardener volunteer with University of Florida/Citrus County Extension. No local gardening experience is required!

Extension Announces Master Gardener Volunteer Opportunity

Explore what it means to be a Master Gardener volunteer at one of the Get Acquainted sessions. Extension and its volunteers offer garden information in a wide variety of Florida-Friendly landscape practices such as correctly identifying garden pests and diseases, effective methods to apply irrigation and fertilizers, vegetable gardening, selection of appropriate plant materials for our area and more.

Your choice of two Get Acquainted sessions will be offered Friday, June 7 from 10am to 11:30am or Friday, June 14 from 2pm to 3:30pm. Both sessions will be held at the Extension office, 3650 W. Sovereign Path, Lecanto. During the informational session, you will hear what Extension needs in a volunteer, meet current volunteers, and get your questions answered, including how to apply. Class sessions start in mid-July and run through mid-August twice per week on Wednesdays and Fridays.
