Find M Friends supports Citrus Walk Aware for Alzheimer’s
Find M Friends, a Citrus County non-profit organization that trains scent-discriminating blood hounds and provides support for law enforcement agencies seeking individuals who have gone missing, has become a Power Walker Sponsor for Citrus Walk Aware for Alzheimer’s with a $1,000 donation to the Alzheimer’s Family Organization. The Walk, now in its second year, will take place in Floral City on the morning of October 20, 2018.
Find M Friends President Linda Boles states, “We are proud to support the work of the AFO. Among the other services they provide, the AFO has partnered with us to distribute human scent preservation kits which are so vital in locating individuals who have wandered and gone lost. People living with dementia are a disproportionate number of these individuals, and it is essential to locate them and get them out of harm’s way as quickly as possible through the use of scent-discriminating blood hounds.”
The Alzheimer’s Family Organization is a non-profit charity that provides resources and support for caregivers of individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia in eight west-central Florida counties, including Citrus County.
