Flood Relief Money Still Available for Pasco Residents

Pasco County residents affected by the severe flooding last summer have less than a month left to apply for state relief money.

Pasco County received $1.5 million from the State of Florida State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program in response to the July/August, 2015 flooding event. The application deadline for relief is June 30, 2016.

Applications are available for two programs:

  • Pasco Fix – Homeowners who received damage from the 2015 flooding event can get help to repair things like roofs, flooring, utility systems and air conditioning units.  If the house is beyond repair, it can be replaced.
  • Mortgage Insurance Deductible – If you have flood or property insurance and had to pay a deductible – that amount can be reimbursed.

Eligible applicants cannot exceed these income guidelines:

Household Size                       Yearly Income

1                                             $49,800

2                                             $56,880

3                                             $63,960

4                                             $71,040

5                                             $76,800

Properties must have a homestead exemption and other conditions apply. Assistance from the County for both programs will be in the form of a 0% loan, with no payments for 10 years.
