Floral City Heritage Council Historic Speaker Jan. 28

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on January 22, 2020

On Tuesday, January 28, 2020, the Floral City Heritage Council will be gathering at the Floral City Community Building. This is the old stone building between the library and the Heritage Museum in the Town Center.

At 7 pm, members and guests will all bring food to share with one another. It’s a chance to make one of those old tried-and-true recipes you got from Mom, or Grandma – the good food that made you feel warm and comfortable inside and out. Bring your own dish and eating utensils to dig into the offerings.

Jennifer Clark, second from left, will share her research and remembrances of the history and heritage of Floral City’s Black community on January 28 at the Floral City Heritage Council quarterly meeting. The Public is Invited.

Jennifer Clark, local author, will share Floral City History

After the meal, Jennifer Clark will share her true tales of growing up in Floral City. Jennifer works at Floral City Elementary School. She has been researching and writing stories of Floral City history and heritage for several years.

Jennifer and her sister assisted during Floral City Heritage Days as costumed docents at two of the historic sites added to the 2019 Heritage Days itinerary. You might have heard them singing with the girls from E-Nini-Hassee outside the Museum.

Jennifer Clark brings an unparalleled perspective of color to the stories of old Floral City’s friends and neighbors. Join us to hear her research and recollections during our Snippet of History!

The evening will wrap up with a brief business meeting.
