On August 8, 2019, Head to Toe by Julie and Jo, a Floral City-based salon, will provide free haircuts at the Floral City Elementary School on the occasion of its back-to-school Meet the Teacher Day. 

Floral City kids to get free back-to-school haircuts, scent kits, and stuffed toy bloodhounds

To meet expected high demand, this year there will be five stylists to serve the students.
In addition, Find-M Friends, the non-profit organization that raises and trains bloodhounds to rescue people who have become lost, will be on hand to give each student receiving a haircut an Out of Harms Way scent kit and a Plush Pup bloodhound stuffed toy.  

The scent kits are to speed up the rescue of children who may become lost, and the stuffed toys are to remind them to be safe and follow their parents’ and teachers’ instructions so no one will ever have to call out the real bloodhounds.
Haircuts will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis between 10 a.m. to noon, and no reservations are required.  For more information, call 352-422-0945.
