Florida-Friendly Landscaping June Class/Workshop Schedule
The Hernando County Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ (FFL) program offers classes and workshops year-round to help residents learn how to save time, money and water when maintaining their lawns and gardens. All classes will be presented by Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program Coordinator Lilly Browning. The schedule of classes and workshops along with a short description of each is listed below.

Residents are invited to attend “Florida-Friendly Yards” on Thursday, June 6,
Free Class: The Big Bug Hunt
Residents are invited to attend “The Big Bug Hunt” on Friday, June 7, 2019, at 10 a.m. at the Chinsegut Conservation Center located at 23212 Lake Lindsey Road in Brooksville. Kids of all ages are welcome to come out and learn about the common insects found in our area and why they are important. After a short talk by FFL Program Coordinator Lilly Browning, Dr. William Lester of Hernando County Extension UF/IFAS will take the group outdoors to go on a bug hunt. Please wear comfortable, cool clothing/shoes and bring water and mosquito repellent as the group will be walking in the woods. No registration necessary.

Residents are invited to attend “Some Like it Hot – Annuals for Central Florida” on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Spring Hill Branch Library located at 9220 Spring Hill Drive and on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hernando County Utilities Building located at 15365 Cortez Boulevard in Brooksville.
