The Chamber is pleased to welcome Florida Secretary of Commerce and President / CEO of Enterprise Florida Jamal Sowell as our guest speaker for the Salute to Business luncheon on October 11 at Black Diamond Ranch.

Secretary Sowell was appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis in January as Commerce Secretary and subsequently confirmed as President / CEO of EFI.

James Sowell to address Citrus County Chamber October Luncheon

EFI is the public-private partnership dedicated to job creation for Florida and its more than 21 million residents.  As President/CEO and Florida’s Secretary of Commerce, Jamal Sowell leads EFI in facilitating job growth through recruitment and retention; small business growth through international trade and exporting programs; promotion and protection of Florida’s military bases; promotion of sporting events; and capital funding programs to assist small and minority businesses.

The organization works with county and regional organizations across the state, as well as utility, state agency and community partners to strengthen and diversify Florida’s economy.

As Citrus County enters a new era of economic opportunity with the extension of the Suncoast Parkway, the anticipation of the role EFI can play in our community will grow. And as the area looks forward and plans for the type of community we want to see our county become in the future through the Citrus 2030 project, the Chamber is honored to have Secretary Sowell as part of 2019 Business Appreciation Month.
