Free Audubon Birding Walk at Heartwood Preserve Oct. 21

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on October 19, 2017

Saturday Oct. 21st 8 AM will be our next Audubon field trip.

We will be exploring Heartwood Preserve Natural Cemetery on Starkey Blvd.

Location is about one mile north of Longleaf entrance on the right.

Look for rail fence on right. Right turn only!!

First it is wet in spots with all the rain we have had, so bring shoes or boots that won’t mind a couple inches of water.

There are no paved trails so walking will be little more rugged than our normal Starkey walks.

I was there at 10 AM and we mostly talked about the property and walked about so wasn’t birding but managed to see lots of Palm warblers E Bluebirds Eastern Phoebe, Blue jay, mocking bird, crow, vultures, RBWP, and I think a Carolina Wren with just casual observation.

Gates open at 7:30 AM. Walk starts at 8 AM.

Walking will be a little more robust but distances are not that far.

And we will have access to some areas not normally available.

See you Saturday!
