FREE virtual classes on Florida-Friendly Landscaping

The Hernando County Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ (FFL) program offers classes and workshops year-round to help residents learn how to save time, money and water when maintaining their lawns and gardens.

FREE virtual classes on Florida-Friendly Landscaping

Residents are invited to participate in free, online learning through virtual, interactive classes for the month of October. These virtual classes will be presented by Florida-Friendly Landscaping Coordinator Lilly Browning.

The schedule of classes along with a short description of each is listed below. Residents can participate by following FFL on Facebook at A link to participate in the classes will be provided on the Facebook page. Videos will be available on Facebook after the class has been recorded.

Free Virtual Class: Florida-Friendly and Budget-Friendly Yards

Residents are invited to virtually attend “Florida-Friendly and Budget-Friendly Yards” on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 10 a.m. Does your yard feel like a money pit? Learn how you can save time, energy, frustration, money and natural resources by going Florida-Friendly in your landscape.

Free Virtual Class: Dangers in the Garden – Lunch and Learn 

Residents are invited to virtually attend “Dangers in the Garden – Lunch and Learn” on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at noon. Join Lilly Browning and Dr. Bill Lester as they expose those dangers that are lurking in your yard. Insects, poisonous plants, weather issues and more will be explored in this class.

Free Virtual Class: Spooky Gardens

Residents are invited to virtually attend “Spooky Gardens” on Friday, October 30, 2020 at 10 a.m. In this fun holiday class, participants will learn about plants that are dark, ghostly, ravenous or have a mysterious history!
