Fully Automated Sanitation Service Collection is provided by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) trucks. This service will begin shortly. The City of Inverness is very excited to bring this service to our community. Automated service utilizes a truck equipped with a mechanical arm that lifts your garbage and recycling containers from the street and empties the container’s contents into the truck – without the driver ever leaving the cab of the truck. This type of service is safer for our drivers and allows for a more efficient collection method, which keeeps collection costs low. In addition, our new automated collection vehicles are quieter and powered by clean burning Compressed Natural Gas. Placement of the carts is key to succesful collection.
