By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on June 8, 2016

The Hernando County Housing Authority has received funding in the amount of $46,452 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to assist homeless veterans in Hernando County under the HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) program.

The HUD-VASH program combines Housing Choice Voucher rental assistance for homeless Veterans with case management and clinical services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).  The VA provides these services for participating veterans at its medical centers and community-based outreach clinics.  These vouchers will be administered in partnership with the Tampa VA Medical Center/Brooksville Community Based Outpatient Clinic located at 14540Cortez Blvd. Suite 202 in Brooksville.

Homeless veterans, or anyone knowing a homeless veteran may contact the Hernando County Housing Authority at (352) 754-4160 for additional information.
