On September 10 and 11, 2017, Hurricane Irma impacted much of Florida. As a result, many of the sites on the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail (GFBWT) are partially or totally closed to the public. Check the homepage of our website for the current status of all 510 Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail sites throughout the state, and come back for further updates. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s top priority is to provide significant resources to the statewide efforts to help our citizens and visitors recover from the devastating impacts of Hurricane Irma.
