On May 31st, the City held a groundbreaking ceremony for the improvements to the New Port Richey Recreation & Aquatic Center. The project will include a relocated and expanded fitness center with state of the art equipment and free weights, an indoor playground complete with child watch and additional multi-purpose rooms including a game room with the latest in electronic games. The entryway and membership check-in will be streamlined and a reception area will complete the renovation and expansion project slated for completion by December 2017. The Recreation and Aquatic Center will remain open with regular business hours during the renovation process.
