Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park and the Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park are busy planning and setting up for their annual Haunted Tram Rides community event scheduled for the evenings of Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29, 2016.
The event will begin at 6:00 pm each evening, and run until 10:00 pm. Pepper Creek Trail will be transformed during these evenings into a trail of haunting scenarios that will delight families.
This will be the thirteenth year the Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park will be holding the Haunted Tram Rides event which has attracted thousands of visitors each night.
In addition to the Haunted Tram Rides, the event includes family fun such as Halloween costume contests, a fun slide, and refreshments. The suggested donation for the tram ride is $5.00 for adults (age 13 and over) and $3.00 for children up to age 12.
A Haunted House will be set up in the Florida Room. The Grim Reaper’s Haven is the theme of this year’s Haunted House, which have extended hours this year starting Thursday, October 27, from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm; Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29 from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm and will reopen from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm. The hours on Sunday, October 30 will be from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm. The donation for admission to the Haunted House is $2.00 per person.
The Halloween Costume Contests will be held both evenings of Friday, October 28, and Saturday, October 29, 2016. Children should arrive to register in the Visitor Center between 6:30 and 7:00 pm. Contests will begin at 7:00 pm with children divided into three age groups. Prizes will be given for Cutest, Scariest and Most Creative Costumes.
